Everyone loves Buzz Lightyear. First appearing in 1995, and originating in Toy Story, the character is the best possible mix between astronaut and action hero, with a motto like ‘To infinity and beyond!’ it’s easy to see why both children and adults alike have fallen in love with this character.
Disney had a real hit with the Toy Story movies, and with a stellar cast like Tim Allen (Woody) and Tom Hanks (Buzz Lightyear) it’s not hard to see why the movies were such a success. Kids around the world love the movies, and there is even a cartoon series as well. Most kids will have a soft spot for Buzz Lightyear, so they make an excellent costume choice!
Unique and Original Costume
And of course, wherever there is love and affection for a character, there are dress-ups! A buzz lightyear costume is a fantastic way to celebrate a Halloween or fancy dress party. Everyone will be amazed, as he is such a well-known figure, yet not a character that many people will think to dress up as. Dressing up as buzz lightyear is certainly an original idea, but to make things even better, why not get a friend to come along as Woody to the party? Or even as Evil Emperor Zurg (Spoiler Alert: he is Buzz’ father after all!).
A buzz lightyear costume will involve a full body-suit with a colored chest piece, white boots with green trim and a purple hood too of course! Wear some simple white shoes to complete the costume. Cardboard is best, so cut out appropriately sized pieces to cover the front of your chest and the span of your back. Then just simply follow a picture of Buzz Lightyear and paint on the colors.
